HuaPont/CCAB entered equity agreement

Chinese agrochemical company Chongqing Huapont Pharmaceutcial (Huapont) and Brazilian company CCAB AGRO S.A. (Sao Paulo) have entered into an agreement that Huapont will make an equity investment of $20 million in CCAB to gain 7.5% of CCAB shares. Reveal information from the notice of Huapont board.

The shareholder of the parent holding company of CCAB Agro S.A.is the national consortium of soybean, cotton, coffee and maize producers. They represent 15% of maize, 20% of soybean and 60% of cotton planted areas, annual output of agricultural products exceeding $ 8 billion, and the consortium’s annual consumption of pesticides accounts for 20% of total consumption of Brazil.
