Overview
In March 2021, China’s pesticide import and export volume slightly decreased while value increased over the same period of last year, with a trade surplus of $1.251 billion. The import and export volume were 248,600 tons, 4.04% down year on year; the import and export value were $1.463 billion, 11.66% up year on year.
Export Situation
In March 2021, China's pesticide export volume decreased and value increased, the export price rose in average. The export volume was 241,200 tons, which is a year-on-year decrease of 3.92%; the export value was $1.357 billion, 11.46% up year on year.
In terms of pesticide technical and formulation, technicals experienced a significant year-on-year decrease both in volume and value, whilst formulation saw a significant year-on-year increase. The export volume of technicals was 84,500 tons, which is a year-on-year decrease of 63.50%, its export value was $842 million, which is a year-on-year decrease of 26.68%; the export volume of formulation was 156,800 tons, which is a year-on-year increase of 698.07%, its export value was $515 million, which is a year-on-year increase of 646.68%.
As regards to categories of pesticides, the export volume of all categories of pesticides decreased while value increased with the exception of herbicides only. The export volume of herbicides was 171,200 tons, at value of $785 million; the export volume of insecticides was 46,400 tons, at value of $372 million; the export volume of fungicides was 20,700 tons, at value of $183 million.
