The Stockton Group aims to create a plan to expand their collaboration on sustainable agriculture production of high-quality biofungicides which play an important role in addressing the global challenge of food quality, operational safety and chemical load reduction. Stockton who has a presence in 35 countries takes pride in being "Glocal". “We are a GLOCAL company- what we mean by this, is that we integrated a global operation team to efficiently provide a fast and flexible local response to the local agricultural market” says Benjamin Lewensohn, Commercial Manager of the Stockton Group.
The flagship product of Stockton is Timorex Gold, a natural extract of Melaleuca alternifolia, developed by Biomor Israel Ltd., member of the Stockton Group. Timorex Gold provides a unique opportunity for an efficacious yet safe control of Black Sigatoka in bananas. The product that proved to be both a preventive and curative biofungicides has also proven to be an important resistance management tool. Nevertheless, Timorex Gold isn’t only used on banana crops, but also for the control of powdery mildews, downy mildews, rust and early & late blight diseases in vegetables, herbs, grapevines and orchards. “Mexico is known to be one of the top growing export leaders in vegetable producers and given the demand for food safety and quality required of Mexican produce, the farmers need to implement a strict plant protection management scheme in order to ensure they meet those demands set by the US, EU and Japanese market to which the Mexican produce are sold. In return, this led Timorex Gold positioning to high-tech agriculture.”
In the specific case of Timorex Gold, it has proven to be an ultimate alternative for the integrated management of foliar and fruit diseases in crops such as Tomatoes, Chile, Pepper, Blackberries, Raspberries, Strawberries, Pumpkin, Cucumber, Melon and Watermelon. “Timorex Gold has been the ideal solution for Mexican tomato exported to the United States. The biofungicide is certified for both conventional and organic crops and has a zero toxic load; therefore, enables the farmers to achieve high control of foliar diseases without fear that their products are rejected for exports. This is one of those examples of local needs and our local people and agronomists and customers act locally in order to meet global demands".
