Chinese agrochemical company Hu’nan Bohan Chemical Science & Technology recently announced that the new process units with 1,000-ton oxadiazon technical production capacity will be built on top of the existing capacity of 1,000 tons, in the meantime a 500-ton oxadiargyl technical production line is planned to be established in the 2 years ahead.
Oxadiazon is a kind of herbicide to be used against the annual gramineae and broadleaf grassy weeds during pre-emergence and post-emergence stages, mainly for protection of rice and other wide range of crops. China is a large agricultural country with a demand of 2000-2,500 tons of oxadiazon which include 1,500 tons for rice use and 500-1,000 tons for other crops. The world market demand for oxadiazon is roughly about 1,500 tons, which are mostly supplied from China.
According to the China’s Pesticide Export Analytic Report, China’s oxadiazon export mainly goes to Southeast Asia, Middle East and Central America, with main formulation products being 95% and 97% TC, as well as 12%, 25% and 38% EC.
