Sumitomo Chemical's Health & Crop Sciences sales up 11% in H1 FY2015

Sales of Sumitomo Chemical’s Health & Crop Sciences section sales increased by 11.2% to ¥157,252 million($1,310 million at the current rate) for the first half year of 2015 ended September 30th, due to the positive effect of the weaker yen. Sales of the feed additive methionine rose sharply due to higher market prices. Operating income grew by ¥15.6 billion, to ¥27,052 million ($225.5 million at the current rate).
Health & Crop Sciences segment includes crop protection chemicals, fertilizers, feed additives, household and public hygiene insecticides, and active pharmaceutical ingredients and intermediates.
