Sumitomo Chemical's Health & Crop Sciences sales up 11% in FY2014

Sales of Sumitomo Chemical’s Health & Crop Sciences section for the first quarter of FY2015 ended June 30, 2015, were ¥82,011 million ($669.8 million), up 11.1% year-on-year. Operating income increased by 165.3% to ¥16,122 million ($131.7 million). The growth was driven by positive effect of the weaker yen and higher market prices of feed additive methionine.

Health & Crop Sciences segment includes crop protection chemicals, fertilizers, feed additives, household and public hygiene insecticides, and active pharmaceutical ingredients and intermediates.
