China's agchem import fell down in Nov 2013

China’s pesticide import in Nov fell down by 14.8% and 13.2% in volume and value terms to 5799 tons and $ 49 million, according to the data released by the Chinese General Administration of Customs. At the same period, China’s agchem export posted an increase of 4.3% to 76,000 tons with export value up by 19.6% to $ 290 million.
The country imported a total of 69,100 tons of pesticide from Jan to Oct in terms of volume, with value up by 17.8% to $ 633 million. The volume of pesticide export in the period keeps the uptrend by rising 22.8% to 1,009,400 tons and the total value also boosted by 32.1% to $ 3.44 billion.
Import specifics
Still, fungicide was the largest category of import pesticide in Nov with 2,100 tons in volume. The volume of herbicide import drastically fell by 53.2% and was valued at $ 14 million. Insecticide import grew steadily by 9.9% and 14.8% in terms of volume and value to 700 tons and $ 7 million.

From Jan to Nov, Insecticide’s import volume and value totaled at 9,600 tons and $ 144 million, increasing by 25.3% and 21.6% respectively. Fungicide import volume was up by 11.3% to 24,600 tons, with $ 270 million in value. The import volume of herbicide slightly grew by 0.4% to 20,700 tons with value up by 22.1% to $ 144 million.
Export specifics
Although export volume in Nov dipped by 0.3% to 49,400 tons, herbicide kept its first place among all the categories with value increasing 18.4% to $ 180 million. Insecticide and fungicide exported 17,700 tons and 5,500 tons in volume respectively.

From Jan to Nov, herbicide export witnessed substantial growth as always by 27.2% and 43.7% to 696,300 tons and $ 2,176 million in terms of volume and value. Fungicide export volume fluctuated within a narrow range with value up by 11.2%.
