For the nine-month of 2013, insecticides remained the largest category and sales rose by 42% to R$6,136 million, representing 39% of total agrochemical sales. The herbicides sales ranked second place and grew by 40% to R$ 5,666 million, contributing to 36% of total agrochemical sales . Fungicide business rose by 25% to R$3,334 million, accounting for 21% of total agrochemical sales, while acaricide sales were up by 4% to R$142 million. Sales for other products boosted by 14% to R$546 million.
Soybeans, corn crops boosted the sales all major segments, while wheat dominated growth for herbicide and fungicide sales, and cotton resulted in growth insecticides sales. Other crops such as sugar cane, potatoes, tomatoes, fruit, vegetables and rice also increased the pesticide sales.
