Many cotton producers have already traded an in-furrow application of Temik for a seed treatment for convenient and simple early-season nematode and insect control. But as Bayer CropScience phases out Temik after 40 years of availability, some growers will still be looking to fill that gap.
For the 2012 planting season, Syngenta is offering Avicta Complete Cotton nematicide/insecticide/fungicide seed treatment with 10 percent more Cruiser 5FS seed treatment insecticide to provide enhanced insect protection. The higher rate of Cruiser protects against some of cotton’s biggest yield robbers including tobacco thrips, western flower thrips and cotton aphid to help plants get off to a healthy start.
Since 2006 more than 10 million acres of cotton have been protected by Avicta Complete Cotton. With three powerful components including Avicta seed treatment nematicide, Cruiser 5FS seed treatment insecticide and Dynasty CST seed treatment fungicide, Avicta Complete Cotton has consistently provided cotton growers who have low to moderate nematode pressure with broad-spectrum protection against nematodes and early-season insects including thrips. In addition, Avicta Complete Cotton also includes a seed-applied fungicide to protect the total plant to promote vigorous and healthy cotton seedlings.
