China forecasts agchem growth in 2012qrcode

The Chinese agrochemical market displayed flat in 2011 and the demand is estimated to increase by 2.48% in 2012 in volume term, total volumes to be 984 thousand tons (313.6 thousand tons on 100% basis), reveal figures provided by China Agricultural Technology Promotion Center, the CATPC.

Insecticides will be the largest category in 2012, volume to 124.1 thousand tons, but fungicides will have a significant increase by 7.26%. Wheat seed treatment agent will also have an increasing market share in the coming 3-5 years.

As per the forecasting, acetochlor, glyphosate, atrazine, butachlor, paraquat, alachlor, 2,4-d-butyl, trifluralin, quinclorac, MCPA will be the main products in the category of herbicides. Plant growth regulators like ethephon, mepiquat chloride, paclobutrazol are expected to be in great demand in 2012. Plant growth regulator epibrassinolide, rodenticides chlorophacinone-sodium, diphacinone sodium, coumatetralyl will go down and warfarin will go up.
