PTx unveils WeedSeeker 2 selective spraying system at Expodireto 2025

PTx, a brand that combines precision agriculture technologies from Precision Planting and PTx Trimble, is making its debut at Expodireto Cotrijal 2025, a major agribusiness fair in southern Brazil, with special coverage by AgroPages.

The highlight of the event is the launch of the WeedSeeker 2 selective spraying system, which, according to the manufacturer, allows for savings in herbicide application. "Its high-performance optical sensors precisely detect weeds and apply pesticides only where necessary," states PTx.

The precision agriculture company also notes that the WeedSeeker 2 technology does not "hinder planting and can be used in already emerged crops," known as "Green on Green." "In addition to saving for the producer, the system has the advantage of being integrated with different sprayers available on the market," they add.

According to him, the retrofit and factory solutions "support farmers in making their businesses more profitable, are platforms that communicate with each other, and contribute to increased productivity, cost reduction, and resource optimization."

During Expodireto Cotrijal, PTx is also showcasing the DrySet, an electrically driven fertilizer granule metering system for planters and seeders, ensuring uniform application regardless of terrain position. The line-by-line granular rate control allows producers to increase precision in fertilizer application and save inputs. It also offers curve compensation and variable rate application, among other benefits.

Another highlight is the DeltaForce, an automated line-by-line control system that measures and adjusts soil pressure whenever there is variability in the field. Through high-precision sensors, it adjusts the planter's pressure against soils of different textures and moisture levels, ensuring optimal planting depth and seed emergence. This system reduces waste, making the harvest more efficient.

Visitors can also explore the screen and pilot station, an immersion into the world of connected agriculture, featuring the full range of PTx Trimble monitors (GFX-350, GFX-1060, and GFX-1260) and autopilot options. In this space, producers can experience the usability and versatility of each solution, understanding how the intuitive interface and advanced features can optimize their daily operations.

The brand's products benefit from the ISOBUS communication protocol, a system that integrates equipment from different manufacturers and allows producers to add new brand technologies without having to forgo existing machinery.

The Precision Planting 20|20 monitor offers real-time monitoring and control of operations, enabling farmers to make informed decisions and precise adjustments to optimize planting quality.

The vSet meters precisely singulate seeds without the need for adjustments, resulting in accurate deposition across the field. Meanwhile, the vDrive is a maintenance-free electric drive system. When combined, these systems provide precise control of population and seed spacing, eliminating skips and doubles in planting, reducing maintenance needs, and increasing process efficiency.

Another available solution is the Clarity system, which displays and maps flow variability and product blockage metrics, line by line, offering high-definition visibility in pneumatic and box drills, dry fertilizer applicators, and direct planting bars in real-time. As a result, it allows for immediate corrections, preventing nutritional deficiencies when the crop is established. When combined with DrySet, producers can visualize the rate and magnitude of application, detecting potential blockages in advance.
