Channel® seed is introducing an exclusive, new offering of downstream seed treatment products for next season along with an expanded portfolio of seed products.

Starting in 2025, Channel customers will have access to Channel Edge — a downstream custom blend of individually registered soybean seed treatment products and the only combination of four fungicides plus imidacloprid insecticide available on the market. Channel Edge was developed based on feedback received from Channel SeedPros, with the goal of providing strong agronomic efficacy and increased yield potential.

″Channel Edge is exciting because it really puts us in lockstep with our farmers and Channel SeedPros to really understand what products and offerings will meet their needs,″ says Seed Growth Portfolio Manager Sarah Berger. ″It allows us to have that insight to develop a pipeline for the future.″

Available for soybeans in 2025, this suite of seed treatment products is designed to help mitigate key diseases and pests. Channel SeedPros will work closely with farmers to decide which treatment the seed will receive based on their individual needs and pressure experience. Channel brand and other authorized soybean products treated with Channel Edge offerings qualify for up to 100% replant coverage.

″We’re offering the crop protection our customers have been asking for and something that not any other dealer can bring them,″ says Channel SeedPro Kyle Allen. ″Our farmers appreciate when we can bring them a product that we — Channel SeedPros and the Bayer and Channel brands — fully stand behind as partners in their fields.″

Newly Expanded Channel Seed Portfolio

The Channel Edge seed treatment offering will complement the newly expanded Channel seed portfolio in the 2025 growing season. The Channel portfolio of products expanded in September 2024 to include products from 10 Bayer regional seed brands, which were thoroughly tested and selected by local agronomists and sales teams from the legacy brands.

″The combination of Channel and the regional seed brands creates an expanded ‘best of both worlds’ portfolio that provides farmers more options for their acres,″ says Channel Brand Marketing Lead Jared Thomas. ″Access to this portfolio will help them meet the challenges of ever-changing weather conditions and disease and pest pressures.″

The broadened product portfolio features a corn lineup infused with innovative trait technology and breakthrough solutions, all backed by the Bayer breeding pipeline. One example is VT4PRO™ with RNAi Technology — a versatile product with a broad geographic fit, helping to provide farmers across the U.S. with above- and below-ground protection against some of the toughest corn pests.

Another example is SmartStax® PRO with RNAi Technology — Bayer's elite, all-in corn rootworm fighter — for areas with high corn rootworm pressure in corn-on-corn fields. It combines the proven benefits of the original SmartStax® Technology with the breakthrough RNAi Technology to provide more than double the root node protection over competitor products.*

As of September 1, 2024, Channel customers are eligible to earn money back on their eligible seed and crop protection products through Bayer PLUS Rewards.
