Boa Safra, Brazil’s leading soybean seed producer, has announced a strengthened strategy for its Industrial Seed Treatment (TSI) operations.
The company aims to increase the availability of this technique to Brazilian farmers by establishing a dedicated management team focused on TSI.
Túlio Pytlak, an agronomist with a postgraduate degree in business management from Fundação Dom Cabral, leads the new TSI management. Pytlak has previously worked with multinational companies such as Syngenta and LongPing High-Tech.
Boa Safra reported that of the 164,000 big bags of seeds sold last year, approximately 52,000 underwent Industrial Seed Treatment – TSI. This represents a 37% increase compared to 2022. The soybean seed production company states that this number represents a 37% growth compared to 2022.
The company's goal for 2024, Boa Safra continued, is to continue expanding its portfolio of solutions. ″Currently, all processing units and distribution centers have machines for industrial seed treatment,″ the Brazilian company reports.
In addition, the company guarantees it will offer ″recipes suited to each profile and need″ in differentiated packages, such as TSI Boa Safra Básico.
″It offers effective protection against pests and diseases, using highly efficient products to protect seeds from soil pathogens. There is also the option of adding inoculants,″ the company said.
They also highlighted TSI Boa Safra TOP, which ″expands the benefits of basic treatment by including additional components that provide advanced and specific protection against a wide variety of pests and diseases.″
The last package mentioned is the TSI Boa Safra Premium, which ″combines all the benefits of the Basic and Top treatments, incorporating biological pesticides /nematicides for more sustainable and integrated pest management.″
″This treatment reduces dependence on conventional chemical products and protects seeds and plants against biotic threats throughout their entire life cycle, increasing crop productivity and yield,″ Boa Safra said.
″Each package covers a specific demand,″ the company highlighted, revealing that its technical team would be responsible for recommending the most suitable product.
