At a time when farmers across Europe are demanding urgent measures to have sufficient tools to enable the economic and environmental sustainability of their farms, Syngenta is clear that only by integrating all solutions from a 360º perspective that covers all crop problems you can win the future.

Especially in crops with high added value, such as red fruits grown in Huelva or table grapes from Vinalopó, this need to provide comprehensive solutions to producers is much more important, since they are products that must reach consumers with very high quality levels. In these crops, Syngenta's commitment to innovation will be key through the new biostimulant solutions from Syngenta Biologicals, in combination with the latest technology in crop protection, the new digital tools offered by Syngenta Cropwise, and the application of good agricultural practices.

It should be noted that the range of Syngenta Biologicals solutions offers highly valued advantages in high-quality crops: they stimulate the development of crops; strengthen against biotic stress; they stimulate the absorption of nutrients and water; improve the performance of crop protection products; reduce waste; they avoid CO2 losses; improve soil health; and stabilize the ecological balance of ecosystems.

Solutions for Red Fruits and Table Grapes

In Spain, Red Fruit or Table Grape productions are differentiated by their high quality for consumers who are increasingly demanding. If we talk about Red Fruits, Spain produces an average of 440,000 tons per year (30% of European production), with Andalusia being where practically 97% of the production is concentrated, which is divided between strawberries (77%), raspberries (11%) and blueberries (11%), in addition to other productions of blackberries or currants.

In this sense, Syngenta is developing trials in the cultivation of blueberries in Palos de la Frontera, in the province of Huelva, applying its comprehensive strategy in which the company's latest generation phytosanitary products are combined with biological solutions and biostimulants that They help enhance the health and quality of the crop.

Thus, a new solution is being applied such as VITASÈVE, which is a special formulation, coming from the exclusive GeaPower technology, which provides nutrients capable of improving the activity of the cambium, responsible for the production of lymphatic vessels and new wood. Applying VITASÈVE in each growing cycle favors the production of new wood and optimizes the circulation of sap in the plants, avoiding premature aging of the wood and increasing the production capacity, as well as the final profitability of the plants.

Another biostimulant solution used in these trials is KENDAL™ ROOT, which is composed of a set of biomolecules that helps plants remain vigorous in all conditions that limit correct development of the root system, promoting a rapid vegetative restart, an increase in the resistance of the roots and stimulating the growth of new roots.

As Andrés Aguilera, MDM of Syngenta Biologicals, tells us, in the test areas where these new solutions have been applied, it is observed how a huge part of the stem is covered with flowers, with larger stems and full of fruits. However, in the control plot, without applying these biostimulants, much shorter canes and with much fewer set fruits are clearly observed. These results are confirmed by Mateo Aroca, technical manager of SP Soluciones Agrícolas, who highlights that sprouting has been much more homogeneous and the crop is much further along, with fruit set and a lot of flower bud sprouting.

The same occurs in a crop as special as the Vinalopó Bagged Table Grape, the only bagged grape worthy of a Protected Designation of Origin, and which is a unique fruit in the world due to its particular ripening process in paper bags. In this sense, with the application of biostimulants and Syngenta's comprehensive strategy, an improvement in sprouting and setting is also clearly seen, as well as an increase in grape production and quality throughout the campaign.

This has been transferred to the Table Grape sector of Vinalopó (producers, technicians and exporters) in various talks in which cutting-edge phytosanitary solutions such as Orondis Ultra, Botritys, Ampexio, Costar, etc., integrated with the catalog, have been presented. from Syngenta Biologicals with Biostimulants such as Viva, Talete, Brexil Line, Vitaseve, etc., as reflected in the photographs.
