Brazilian agrochemical company BRA Agroquímica has revealed to AgroPages its entry into the seed market with treatment.

Already well-established in the Brazilian market for agricultural pesticides, BRA has now begun selling pasture seeds under its own brand. The company's focus is on tropical grasses, such as brachiaria spp and panicum spp, which are the most commonly used in the market among livestock farmers and agricultural producers, as well as other forage species.

The seeds sold by BRA are mostly coated, with a graphite finish, meaning they undergo an encrustation process. This means they are covered with silicates to improve planting patterns and thus enable better germination and reduce the incidence of diseases. However, the company also offers untreated seeds for all types of planting: These seeds undergo treatment with insecticide and fungicide to inhibit potential diseases and fungi that may hinder their development, as well as a stimulant for the root system. During this process, the seed's nutritional base is also ensured to guarantee its proper development.

"The seeds sold by BRA are 100% Brazilian-produced, with quality and yield guaranteed by BRA Agroquímica," the company states. With this new portfolio, BRA says the goal is to ensure the proper functioning of the soil and the feeding of the cattle, as well as being necessary for the pasture to remain productive for longer periods. Originally focused on pastures, BRA has expanded its scope to fully meet Brazilian agricultural production. Today, it offers 20 specialized products, covering herbicides, insecticides, and fungicides.

"Since 2004, it has stood out as one of the few companies in the agricultural pesticide sector with entirely national capital. Its products are widely distributed throughout Brazil through an extensive network of strategic partners and customers," says BRA. Prioritizing innovative, effective, and financially accessible solutions, the company also states that it seeks partnerships with highly reputable international manufacturers, relying on specialized and trained teams.

"Our short-term strategy is to invest in innovative mixtures, with two or even three active ingredients. These formulations are not yet available in the national market," emphasizes Victor Vargas, executive director of BRA Agroquímica. BRA's constant investment in its growth has also resulted in the opening of two new branches in the last year and the recent launch of new products.
