【FAT 2023】Innospec: Oil dispersion (OD) and its application in crop protection & the formulation development challenges

Yuliang Wang, Global Technical Director for Agricultural Chemicals at Innospec Performance Chemicals delivered a speech titled ″Oil dispersion (OD) and its application in crop protection & the formulation development challenges″ at the 4th Ag Formulation & Application Technology Congress (FAT 2023) during Nov. 29-30, 2023 in Hangzhou, China.

In recent years, OD formulation is attracting more and more attention, especially in the Chinese market, but technical challenges also exist, such as the unsatisfactory stability and the difficulty in dispersion. Yuliang Wang shared his experience in application of OD formulation in crop protection, giving detailed introduction to the OD formulation basics, applications and challenges. He also presented Innospec’s solutions in this field, as Innospec has developed multiple patented products by selection of right surfactants and rheological modifiers, which can effectively increase the storage stability and dispersion effect of OD formulation. Yuliang Wang concluded that OD formulation provides an important choice of pesticide carrier with broad application prospects, despite all challenges.
