The companies will showcase the latest updates and opportunities provided by the integration of their platforms to support the agri-food supply chain at AgriTechnica, held from November 12 to 18 in Hannover, Germany.

FieldView and xFarm Technologies have formed a global partnership to help farmers by allowing them to connect the dots on their farms more easily.

FieldView is Bayer's leading digital agriculture platform, helping farmers manage their farms more efficiently, from planting to harvest, with information from satellites and connected machinery and equipment. It has been adopted for more than 80 million hectares in 23 countries around the world.

xFarm Technologies is a technology company that is helping the agri-food sector go digital, by offering innovative tools to help farmers and stakeholders manage their businesses. xFarm Technologies supports the work of 300,000 farms belonging to more than 50 supply chains on 3 million hectares.

Technological fragmentation is a major problem facing agriculture, which remains one of the least digitalized sectors in the world. Under this context, the partnership between FieldView and xFarm Technologies aims to provide farmers with new solutions by integrating their two leading digital farming platforms, allowing farmers to benefit from the complementarity of the two systems.

By easily managing connectivity between the two platforms and eliminating the double entry of field data, farmers can now use the platforms to make informed decisions and better manage their farms. In addition, the reports will be more precise and will comply with current European Union (EU) regulations. Data transfer can be activated by users in any country where both platforms are marketed, and the pilot countries are Spain, Italy and France, where both FieldView and xFarm Technologies have had significant presences for many years.

Improving data management for more sustainable agriculture

The partnership focuses on connecting the two platforms, allowing users to share data between their FieldView and xFarm accounts. Farmers will be able to share field boundaries, as well as planting, harvesting and other operational data, enabling them to take advantage of complementary capabilities and eliminate duplicate data entry by using data from both platforms, to improve the effectiveness of their agronomic practices through FieldView and optimize their farm management through xFarm.

Additionally, farmers can maintain full control of their data by managing the connection as they see fit. The integration between the two platforms is possible due to xFarm Connect, a new interface that the technology company will present at AgriTechnica that allows farmers to manage all interconnections in one place. This feature, as well as the connection with FieldView, makes the work of farmers easier and allows the entire agri-food supply chain to be better connected, leading to more sustainable production.

Christine Brunel-Ligneau, Digital EMEA Commercial Lead FieldView, gave more details on the partnership, stating, ″Farmers are always facing many challenges, but most risks can be overcome by making the right decisions on the farm. Empowering them with the right tools is our active goal right now, so every step we take to bring connectivity to a level that serves our customers is a success for us. We are excited about the partnership with xFarm Technologies, as it is a solid demonstration of how technology can improve data."

Pier Alberto Gobbo, Telematics Business Unit Manager, said, "We are very excited about this partnership. We believe that the integration between our platform and FieldView can make an important contribution to the digitalization of agriculture and make farms in Spain, France and Italy, which are located in some of the areas most exposed to climate change and energy crises, become even more efficient, innovative and sustainable. The connectivity between xFarm and FieldView and the resulting data exchange will help farmers who rely on it. It is up to us to face the challenges ahead with greater confidence. AgriTechnica is the right place to showcase this important integration, and we look forward to presenting all its benefits to visitors at this international exhibition."
