Corteva Agriscience has taken an important step forward in the transition to packaging products that are compatible with the easyconnect system, which will ultimately make filling sprayers safer and more efficient.
The innovative easyconnect caps and coupler use closed transfer system (CTS) technology to reduce operator exposure and environmental risks from splashing or spilling of crop protection products.
This month, Corteva announced the successful completion of a pilot project which has seen easyconnect caps fitted onto packs of the company’s Pixxaro cereal herbicide, destined for growers in Denmark and the Netherlands.
It is Corteva’s intention to roll out the initiative further in the coming years.
Corteva’s France Hub Leader Raphaelle Houssin said: ″We are pleased to have run this pilot of easyconnect in Drusenheim, which will help make crop protection product use faster, safer and more secure. Thank you to the team for their careful planning and dedication, which made the production a great success.″
The easyconnect system consists of two components: a unique cap which is pre-fitted onto containers and a coupler. Together, they save operators time and effort when filling sprayers, and significantly reduce operator exposure and the risk of spills.
Corteva’s EU Product Stewardship Leader Louise Brinkworth added: "It is encouraging to see progress on the commitment to implement easyconnect caps on to our products, reflecting our dedication and determination and marking a step forward to bringing Closed Transfer System compatibility to our product users."
Corteva is part of a cross-industry group committed to bringing the easyconnect system to market. This pilot project represents a significant step forward in rolling the packaging out across Corteva’s portfolio of market-leading crop protection products.
