Malta authorized more approvals for fungicide products

By 12th August, 235 plant protection products have been approved by the Maltese plant protection competent authority, the MSA (Malta Standards Authority).
Of all the approved products, 106 of them were fungicide products, taking 45% proportion of the approvals. Numbers of approved insecticides and herbicides were 37 and 63. The rest were composed of products consisting fumigants, acaricide, nematicides, adjuvants, PGRs, molluscicides and rodenticides.
For the applicants, 132 of them were from Italy or Italian subsidiaries of the multinationals such as DuPont, Dow Agroscience, Bayer Cropscience, Syngenta, etc. The well known Italian company, Sipcam, gained 13 approvals in this Mediterranean country.
