The novelty was incorporated into the company's portfolio during the Agrishow 2023 fair – the most important Brazilian agribusiness event, with special coverage by AgroPages.

According to IHARA, TRUNEMCO arrives to ″offer high efficiency and more sustainability in the control of soil nematodes, one of the main challenges farmers around the world face.″

According to the manufacturer, this happens because the bionematicide has an innovative FS formulation compatible with other treatments, providing greater practicality and yield due to the low application dosage.

The new biological developed by IHARA is announced as having an ″innovative formulation, composed of a CEPA that was selected and developed to combat and repel nematodes and, in addition, offers even greater protection of the roots and, consequently, better development of the plant.″

Iuri Cosin IHARA.jpeg″TRUNEMCO's formulation is unique in the country. It combines special strains of bacilli; more aggressive against targets, more resistant and more tolerant,″ explained IHARA Biological Products Coordinator, Iuri Cosin.

Furthermore, the biological nematicide has the broadest package insert recognized by the Ministry of Agriculture in this bionematicide market, which means proven effectiveness against a greater number of targets in different crops, he said.

Another critical difference registered in the TRUNEMCO leaflet is the low dose required for this formulation for seed treatment.

″Optimizing the ‘occupation’ of the volume of syrup is a great advantage for the producer because it ensures that he can also count on other important assets in this process, such as fungicides and insecticides," Cosin recalled.

Still in the preparation of the syrup, the new launch by IHARA stands out with yet another significant differential: its formulation is 100 percent compatible with fungicides, insecticides, and even chemical nematicides available on the market for the treatment of seeds, synergistically complementing this phase of the process.

″Other strengths of TRUNEMCO are its very long shelf life (two years) and not requiring special refrigeration, storage, or transport care. These characteristics make it very easy for the producer,″ the expert added.

The latest edition of the Farm Track survey, carried out annually by the consultancy Kynetec, revealed in numbers the rapid popularization of the adoption of biologicals to control nematodes.

In 2015, chemical nematicides accounted for 94% of the market in the segment, leaving less than 6% for biological ones. Just eight years later, in 2022, bionematicides were already 75% of the total.

Iuri Cosin cites some of the reasons for this reversal: ″The first - and main - factor is the excellent effectiveness of nematode control. Comparative studies show that biological products outperform the main nematicides on the market 80% of the time.″

According to him, another crucial point is the prolonged action of bionematicides. While the residue of most products runs out in about 20 days (still a key moment of stabilization at the beginning of the cultivation), the microorganisms in the biological formulation remain alive in the soil. They can continue to develop and gain even more strength along with the growth of the crop and its roots.

In this account, other advantages of biological agents include the fact that they do not incite pest resistance, and low (or null) toxicity, which guarantees environment safety.

″ESG, sustainability, and conservation of natural resources are increasingly strong and important seals for Brazilian agriculture, as well as the productivity and profitability of rural businesses. With the launch of TRUNEMCO bionematicide technology, IHARA reaffirms its commitment to developing high quality and sustainable solutions for the Brazilian agribusiness,″ Cosin said in conclusion.
