The Indian multinational UPL partnered with commercial partners Novozymes and Nitragin to present new bioinputs at the 2nd Biological Production Meeting held in Argentina, which had special coverage by AgroPages.
UPL presented its new inoculation technology for treating soybean seeds, Jumpstart Liquid during the event.
This biosolution is formulated with the fungus Penicillium bilaiae, and according to the manufacturer, it offers″excellent results since it has a more stable formulation, easy to apply and outstanding survival in the seed.″
″This allows the producer to inoculate with greater anticipation and act more efficiently before sowing during the planting windows,″ Novozymes said.
Penicillium bilaiae generates organic acids that facilitate the mobilization of soil nutrients and make them more available for harvest absorption.
Gisela Santella, Portfolio Development Manager at Novozymes, said this characteristic ″translates into greater efficiency in the use of nutrients, especially phosphorus, increasing early root growth, helping to improve crop nutrition and retain carbon in the soil.″
The manufacturer said, the Liquid Jumpstart is compatible with other inoculants based on the symbiotic bacteria Bradyrhizobium japonicum.
″This new formulation was developed according to regional needs, facilitating not only the implementation of the practice but also to complement and improve the action of the nitrogen-fixing microorganisms present in our line of soy products, achieving increases in the field of 10% compared to traditional inoculation,″ said Diego DeMares, Staff Scientist at Novozymes.
