Weather Risk Management Services (WRMS), a leading provider of smart and sustainable farming solutions in India, recently displayed a diverse range of farm IoTs (Internet of Things) that assist farmers in optimising crop yields, lowering costs, and improving sustainability at 11th Krishi Darshan Expo, India’s leading agriculture exhibition, held in Hisar, Haryana. As a leading provider of precision farming solutions, WRMS demonstrated functional IoTs such as the Automatic Weather Station (AWS), Automatic Pest Traps (APS), and Automatic Irrigation Switch (AIS), as well as the WRMS flagship SecuFarm App and SecuTrak solution.
During the Expo, Farmers, agribusiness, industry entrepreneurs, researchers, technocrats, extension workers, and students interacted under one roof to bring together the industry’s major players. It created a positive environment for productive discussions among industry leaders and decision-makers.
Speaking on the solutions showcased at the Expo, Anuj Kumbhat, Founder and CEO, Weather Risk Management Services, said, ″We were able to have enriching conversations with farmers, understand their challenges, and offer them the SecuFarm, our income-guaranteed flagship product, at the Krishi Darshan Expo. With each conversation, we realised how critical it is for these farmers to break through the barriers of traditional farming practices and a mediaeval mindset. They live in an uncertain world where they are constantly concerned about crop health and farm income, forcing them to use excessive pesticides and water. As a result, SecuFarm continues to be a comprehensive solution that offers complete downside risk protection as well as higher yield. This gives them the confidence to invest in cutting-edge technology, propelling them towards sustainable farming.″
The WRMS SecuFarm app connects farmers across the country to the latest digital agriculture technologies and supports them right from seed selection to ensure a higher yield by following the package of practices shared with them in their native languages. Over 10 million farmers are currently affiliated with WRMS; 1 million acres of land have been geo-tagged; 1.5 lakh SecuFarms have been created; and over 15,000 farm IoT devices have been deployed, the organisation said.
