Herbishow 2022 – Albaugh presents ‘smart portfolio’ for sugarcane

In the 21st edition of Herbishow, which is covered by AgroPages, Albaugh presented what it describes as a “smart portfolio” and “robust line of herbicides” for controlling weeds in sugarcane.

The event, being held in the city of Ribeirão Preto, in the Brazilian state of São Paulo, is intended to highlight the most advanced management technologies for sugarcane fields.

A strategic culture for Albaugh's businesses, sugarcane has been the focus of representative investments by the company in the country, including the creation of a specific Regional Division. According to Albaugh, the Sugarcane Regional has dedicated specialists serving customers in the Brazilian states of São Paulo, Minas Gerais, Mato Grosso do Sul, Goiás, Pernambuco, Alagoas and Rio Grande do Norte.

At the Herbishow 2022, Albaugh specialists presented relevant information about weeds “from A to Z”, according to the company. The star products will be Precise xK (potassium glyphosate), Nongrass (tebuthiuron), Attitude Gold (isoxaflutole), and Metsuram (metsulfuron), Ultimate (atrazine), Compass (amethrin), Bellum (mesotrione), Broker (hexazinone), Example (2,4-D) and Sulfentrazone.

The company adds that the precise herbicide xK has been applied to sugarcane desiccation, in areas of renovation and expansion. Nongrass is considered a “graminicide par excellence, with high application versatility”. Attitude Gold is one of the leading high-performance graminicides for the dry season and straw conditions, says Albaugh.

According to Albaugh, the herbicide Sulfentrazone is as versatile in controlling Cyperaceae plants (monocots) and also broadleaf plants with complex management. The product Metsuram, on the other hand, also, says the company, delivers robust performance on broad leaves that are difficult to control, in addition to a favorable cost-benefit ratio for the producer, is also indicated for desiccation, PPI and post-planting, in dry ratoon cane and wet clogs.

For post-emergence weed control, complements Albaugh, the technical team takes to Herbishow data that support attributes of Ultimato, Compass, Bellum, Broker, and Example herbicides, all of which have high crop selectivity and high efficiency in broad leaves and narrow, according to the company.

According to Albaugh, the company's recent investments in the country also covered the quality and formulations laboratory located in the Albaugh industrial complex in the city of Resende (RJ).
