Clariant, one of the world's leading companies in chemical specialties, is launching its complete line of Agrocer seed dyes in Latin America. Manufactured as powdered pigments and pigment preparations, Agrocer dyes are available in the six most popular colors and have been tested for their safety on use with seeds. All Agrocer products are in line with the US Environmental Protection Agency's (EPA) inert ingredient standards and are available worldwide.
Agrocer pigment preparations are aqueous dispersions based on its six pigments. Compared to powdered pigments, Agrocer pigment preparations enable faster and more economical production for companies specializing in pesticides, seeds and seed treatments while ensuring safety and adherence to legislation, to offer attractive and high value products.
“It is with great satisfaction to announce that we can offer the seed treatment sector the first complete and dedicated line of colorants with high quality pigment preparations, as expected by our customers,” said Geraldo Ventola, Head of Sales at BU Pigments at Clariant Latin America.
“This initiative is in line with the general trend in the seed and pesticide sector to adopt pigmentary preparations, as manufacturers are looking for faster and more economical ways to safely color their seeds, seed treatment formulations and fertilizers,” he added.
The seed treatment products segment is one of the fastest growing areas of agribusiness. Coloring is an important element in brand differentiation, in line with relevant legislation covering controlling product consistency and in sowing precision. Agrocer pigment preparations offer several advantages in terms of ease of handling compared to powder pigments, such as easier cleaning and better hygiene in the workplace. Therefore, productivity increases since grinding is eliminated, ensuring the quality and consistency of the dispersion. Downtime for cleaning production equipment is also reduced.
Clariant's Agrocer preparations are highly compatible with common seed treatment formulations and seed coating products. Agrocer pigment preparations offer maximum color intensity, due to their high solids content and easy dispersibility, in addition to their long service life.
Agrocer products do not contain nonylphenol ethoxylate (NPE) and alkylphenol exothilate (APE), and they do not irritate the eyes and do not require any hazard labeling. In addition, they have low levels of heavy metals and primary amine.
The line includes Agrocer Red 482 device (Pigment Red 48: 2); Agrocer Red 112 available (Pigment Red 112); Agrocer Blue 153 device (Pigment Blue 15: 3); Agrocer Green 007 available (Pigment Green 7); Agrocer Violet 023 available (Pigment Violet 23), and Agrocer Yellow 001 disp. (Pigment Yellow 1).
Clariant also offers white and black water-based pigment preparations from its Colanyl® and Flexonyl™ lines. While black pigmentary preparations increase the coverage power of formulations, facilitating the covering of dark seeds, white pigmentary preparations are an excellent shade component, making it possible to mix more personalized colors.
Clariant's selected water-soluble Sanolin® and Duasyn™ dyes are ideal for staining water-based pesticide formulations, such as Soluble Liquids (SLs).
