XiteBio Technologies Inc. announces that XiteBio® SoyRhizo® and XiteBio® PulseRhizo® premium liquid inoculants have been approved for organic agriculture use.
XiteBio® SoyRhizo®, the liquid soybean inoculant, and XiteBio® PulseRhizo®, the liquid pulse inoculant, can now be used by farmers growing organic crops across Canada. Both XiteBio® SoyRhizo® (a.i. Bradyrhizobium japonicum) and XiteBio® PulseRhizo® (a.i. Rhizobium leguminosarum) inoculants are powered by XiteBio's unique & proprietary AGPT® (Advanced Growth Promoting Technology) formulation that helps crops to fix the atmospheric nitrogen (N) into plant available form. Farmers growing these organic crops can now use these distinctive inoculants as their essential production tools. Both of these inoculants follow the core concept of "nature-enhancing-nature" via better nodulation and greater N-fixation, resulting in healthier plants & better yields. The expansion of these inoculants into the organic markets in Canada provides the retailers a new opportunity to step into the growing markets of organics.
Organically grown crops are on the rise across Canada. 1.7 million acres of organic crops were grown in 2019, 80% of which were in the prairies. The number of certified-organic operations in Canada rose by almost 3% in the last year. A continued interest in planting organic acres, are stimulating the organic markets in the region. “I am excited that we, XiteBio Technologies Inc., have expanded our full product portfolio into all aspects of Canadian farming by receiving organic approvals for our XiteBio PulseRhizo and XiteBio SoyRhizo products. This now ensures that all pulse and soybean growers have a product available that will help maximize their crops potential by fixing that crops N requirements”, says Mike Kupper, XiteBio‟s Business & Product Manager.
“With the approval of these N-fixing inoculants, now all our inoculant & biological product lines can be used in organic agriculture. This is truly a noteworthy achievement for XiteBio as a company and we hope these organic approvals would open new doors for our farm customers, especially the organic farmers to add few more bushels to their bins in a sustainable manner”, says Dr. Manas Banerjee, President & CEO of XiteBio. “We always wanted to explore the organic market and now we have the opportunity along with our retail & distribution customers. This is a continuation of our commitment to serve the farmers”, Dr. Banerjee adds.
