Some 20 years ago, seed coating technology was widely used on vegetables, such as lettuce, arugula and watercress. To serve some companies in the agricultural corn sector, Laborsan Agro developed its own formulation, becoming a reference in terms of high-tech solutions for treating seeds and the overall development of plants.
"Laborsan was created to offer a range of services, such as personalized services, extensive pre and after-sales support, highly qualified technical-commercial professionals and strict and constant quality control," said Francisco Albuquerque (Founder and Director of the Company).
Milton Ribeiro (Co-founder of Laborsan Agro) also stated that the company has, in its DNA, the capacity to offer excellent services and products. "With this goal, we are ensuring customer satisfaction and loyalty, through the constant improvement of our production processes," he added.
In this context, the quality policy of Laborsan Agro stands out, as its pillars include, “Supporting the development of employees, making them aware of the importance of their role in the organization's objectives, and working safely and effectively.”
In terms of performance, Laborsan Agro has a strong presence in two segments, which are seed treatment and the coloring of agrochemicals, with proven solutions to the most diverse range of crops and in planting areas with different characteristics.
The solutions that are 100% exclusive Laborsan Agro technologies include film-coating, which are polymers and drying powders used in seed treatment for adhesion; fouling and pelleting, which are binders, glues and masses that add volume and weight to seeds; and coloring for agrochemicals and seeds, such as dyes, pigments and special coloring formulations.
Among the main partners of Laborsan Agro are Fundação Meridional, UPF, Embrapa Soja, Embrapa Corn and Sorghum, Fundação ABC and Sementest.
In terms of revenue, the company, which has cooperative customers and companies that sell seeds to its customers, recorded sales higher in 2019 by approximately 35% compared to 2018, and it expects to repeat this growth in 2020.
In addition to operating in several Brazilian states, Laborsan Agro markets its products in Argentina, Paraguay and Chile, and plans to expand its broad portfolio of solutions every year.
