Four keywords of agribusiness industry were talked about most in 2019 – AgroPages’ annual surveys

The story of the agribusiness sector of 2019 ended with mixed scenarios. Due to the industry’s sluggish environment, some of those involved said that they moved forward in difficulties. But others are of the opinion that the industry has a bright future and its development will provide new opportunities which brought by the great changes in the industry.

The surveys below were produced based on the topics that were talked about most by our readers in the past year. We sincerely invite you to participate in our annual surveys to talk about your business in 2019 and listen to your views on changes to the industry.

Keyword 1: Doing business with China

In 2019, governments from around the world tightened their regulatory policies on chemical pesticides, causing changes to the future pesticide application structure. At the same time, the landscape of China's agrochemical manufacturing industry is being reshaped. Product supply concentration is constantly getting higher, with supply and demand reaching a new balance. In such situations, how was your business with Chinese suppliers in 2019? How do you view your future cooperation with China?

Keyword 2: Transformation of distribution channels

In an article written by Leon Ye, we learned that Australia is experiencing considerable transformation in the distribution channels of its agri-input industry, due to the rapid developments taking place in the agribusiness market. In fact, as well as Australia, we have witnessed recent intensive global changes to distribution channels, which is becoming the general trend. In your region, do you think that something similar is happening? You are welcome to leave your comment.

Keyword 3: Opportunities and challenges in biopesticide market

Although biopesticides make up less than 10% of the global crop protection market, the biopesticide market is growing at 14% to 17% annually, which is much higher than the traditional chemical sector. The growing demand from consumers for residue-free produces and the need for environmental protection have also boosted the biopesticide market. Coping with the market’s challenges, the availability of new technologies that reduce product costs, simplified application and increased efficiency have popularized these products among farmers. How do you view the current opportunities and challenges of the biopesticides industry? We are looking forward to your comments.

Keyword 4: Challenges and changes in agrochemical formulation development

A series of challenges such as slower launch of new molecules, the problem of serious pesticide resistance, tighter regulation and the increased concern over food safety, have driven the global R&D and of manufacturing agrochemical formulations technologies to evolve rapidly in the direction of “safety and efficient”.

Under this background, we sincerely invite you to join this survey and share your specific problems, through which we expect to help you find potential solutions and partners.
