Nanjing Red Sun announced that its wholly-owned subsidiary, Chongqing SJC Chemical, received approval from the Changshou District Bureau of Ecology and Environment for the project, which will be implemented in accordance with the environmental impact report.

Red Sun spent 10 years producing its improved glufosinate by using the “digital + biochemical technology,” which is the second time the technology was used to produce a conventional product, after VB3. The innovative production of glufosinate is another important milestone in the company’s work to upgrade its three existing environment-friendly chemical pesticide industry chains to three world-leading digital green biotechnical pesticide industry chains, which is planned to be completed over a period of five years.

Red Sun’s glufosinate production technique is environment-friendly, as well as competitive with low production costs. The company’s continuous large scale production is also digitalized, and a single unit can produce at least 20,000 tons of product per year. According to predictions, the global demand for glufosinate will increase to 200,000 tons over the next three years. Upon completion, the project will have a significant social and economic influence in favor of pesticide reduction and industry upgrade programs.

The project has been granted all the required permits for construction, and after becoming operational, it will increase Red Sun’s business performance and enhance the overall competitiveness of the company’s other industry sectors, enabling it to achieve long-term sustainable development.
