At the Corn Seed Technical Seminar held in Jiuquan of Gansu Province on November 7, 2018, Corteva Agriscience released its first micro-toxic seed treatment agent, Lumingwei, which aims at improving the maize pest control effect and helping growers increase corn yield to create a higher value.
Zheng Ziqin, China market and strategic director of Corteva Agriscience, said that Corteva Agriscience has consolidated the superior resources of the formerly DuPont, Dow AgroScience and DuPont Pioneer, which make up the worldwide seed technical strength of the company. The launch of Lumingwei, this time to the Chinese market, will bring a good planting experience to corn growers and help farmers increase yield and profitability.
As the first micro-toxic seed treatment agent of Corteva Agriscience launched in China, Lumingwei provides precision protection of seeds and early-stage seedlings, which is a constant and steady safeguard for the planting of corn. The Lumingwei seed treatment agent has an excellent effect against ground and underground insect pests such as black cutworm, grub and armyworm. With its good systemicity, Lumingwei has a lasting effect of as long as 30 days. Its action mechanism enables it to be free from cross resistance to existing seed treatment products. After plantation, Lumingwei stays around the critical area of seeds to safeguard seeds against pests. Once a pest eats the corn seed or seedling treated by Lumingwei, it will stop further eating it immediately.
