Dow AgroSciences just launched its Spindle insecticide (spinosad) in Brazil. Now, it becomes much easier for farmers to control the pests in the grape plantations in Brazil.
"In the most diverse regions of the country, the cultivation of grapes demands constant investments to increase quality and productivity. Currently, the producer has few efficient tools to make the best insect management. In fact, there are few records of efficient technologies, so producers have limited management options. But now with Spindle it will be possible to avoid losses and increase quality and productivity in Brazilian vineyards," explains André Baptista, Marketing Manager for Hortifrúti at Dow AgroSciences.
The new Dow AgroSciences product has unique characteristics in the viticulture market, since the formulation, based on Spinosad, has unprecedented benefits for the producer.
Among the main benefits offered by Spindle are:
· Very high shock effect - the damage will stop after two hours
· Low grace period - just one day
· Unique mechanism of action - ideal for IPM (Integrated Pest Management)
· Wide spectrum of control
· Long-lasting residual control
· Good resistance to rain
· High selectivity for beneficial insects
It is worth mentioning that this same formulation of Spindle is used in organic registration in several countries of the world (not even Brazil). In addition to being registered for grape growing, Dow AgroSciences' new insecticide is fully compatible with "Integrated Pest Management" and is also indicated for use in pest control for apple and coffee.
