Hexagon, a global provider of information technology solutions, has entered into an OEM agreement between its Agriculture division and Smart Guided Systems to provide key precision-guidance technologies for various commercial applications through the company’s alliance with Kubota Tractor Corporation.
Indianapolis-based Smart Guided Systems offers precision-guidance systems that use state-of-the-art technology to improve equipment efficiency. Kubota Tractor Corporation, located in Grapevine, Texas, is the U.S. marketer and distributor of Kubota-engineered and manufactured equipment through its more than 1,100 dealers Smart Guided Systems has an alliance with Kubota for its precision-guidance systems that facilitate autonomous steering of select Kubota tractors, mowers and utility vehicles. This enables organisations to assign, track and manage their operators and equipment fleet more effectively, resulting in savings or productivity gain of up to 20 per cent.
To support Smart Guided Systems’ needs, Hexagon combined its positioning intelligence, machine control and auto-steering technologies with deep domain expertise from the precision agriculture market.
