Eurofins Agroscience Services have hired a nematode specialist in Thailand. Tida Sangsawang will be in charge of nematicide trials and Thai registration trials for the region.

Tida attained a bachelor’s degree majoring in applied biology from Rajabhat Nakhonpathom University in 2006 and subsequently completed a master’s degree in plant pathology from Kasetsart University in 2014.

She has extensive experience in screening for plant resistant root-knot nematodes and the detection & identification of plant parasitic nematodes.

Jean-Louis Allard, Managing Director, EAS Thailand Co. Ltd. Says of the appointment, “Nematodes affect many crops in the tropics. In South East Asia yield in vegetables and sugarcane can be significantly reduced by nematodes; with Khun Tida, EAS Thailand can now offer high quality and reliable expertise for testing new solutions against this important pest complex.”

This new capability sees the Thai portfolio of services going from strength to strength - Eurofins Agroscience Services Thailand was established in 2010; the facility is based in Takhli where field trials are carried out along with laboratory studies. IRM (insecticide resistance monitoring) studies are a core area of expertise at this location.  In addition, Mosquito Studies can be conducted in Thailand - the team in Takhli has experience with LLIN (Long Lasting Insecticide Nets) semi field studies in tunnels with various mosquito species (Aedes, Anopheles and Culex).
