2017 China top 100 pesticide technical and top 50 formulation companies released

The global pesticide industry in 2016 was rather depressed, which was also the case in the Chinese market. Although the business performance of pesticide technical manufacturers was, in general, not bad, yet enterprises appeared to be obviously polarized. Profits of formulations manufacturers suffered continual drops, which imposed a bottleneck for these companies as they sought to develop more business.

Nutrichem ranked no. 1 on the list, with sales of 4.549 billion yuan, followed by Rainbow Chemical and Fuhua Tongda Agro-chemical Technology, with respective sales of 3.751 billion yuan and 3.664 billion yuan.
The top 100 pesticide sales companies performed quite well in 2016, as total sales reached 109.873 billion yuan, a 5.81 percent increase year on year. The entry level for the top 100 dropped from 320 million yuan last year down to 303 million yuan, a 5.31 percent decrease year on year.
There was an obvious polarization in the pesticide industry last year, for reasons such as the business downturn, environmental pressures, the impact of paraquat policies and corporate restructuring activities. There were 39 companies that reported sales of Yuan 1 billion, just one less than last year. The total sales of the top 10 companies reached 31.992 billion yuan, a 10.86 percent increase year on year. The ranking of the top 10 companies changed significantly, as the top 3 changed positions. Also, Fuhua Tongda and Nantong Jiangshan stepped into the top 10 rankings.

Among the top 50 formulations sales companies, Noposion ranked No. 1 with sales of 1.759 billion yuan, winning the championship for the sixth time. Guangxi Tianyuan Biochemical and Jiangsu Rotam ranked No.2 and No.3, respectively, with sales of 1.204 billion yuan and 1.141 billion yuan.
The pesticide industry remained slow in 2016, which is referred to as a “harsh winter” market, as industry profitability continued to drop. The total sales of the top 50 formulations companies was 17.178 billion yuan, down 5.3 percent year on year. The entry level to the top 50 was 102 million yuan, up 2 percent year on year. The entry level to the top 30 was 182 million yuan, 3.7 percent down year on year, with total sales being 14.336 billion yuan, a 7.7 percent drop year on year.
As a result of the impact on the entire industry, the structure of sales reveals that compared with the top 50 from last year, 3 companies achieved sales of over 1 billion yuan, who are the same as last year, but their business performances appeared to be worse than last year.
