Syngenta has announced the launch of Fortenza Duo insecticide in Argentina for the seed treatment of corn. It is a combination of the complementary insecticides Cruiser 60 and Fortenza, with the goal of ensuring a wider plague control spectrum.
According to the manufacturer, the product has an innovative mode of action, contributing to the preservation of the effectiveness of the Agrisure Viptera technology for a longer period than usual. At the presentation, the marketing leader for Seedcare at Syngenta Argentina, Leandro Barcos, agreed with Dr. Julio Fatoretto, manager of Insect Resistance of Syngenta in Latin America.
The executives presented the results of complete studies demonstrating that Fortenza Duo was effective in the control of insects that attack corn: soil insects, sucking insects, and Lepdotera. According to them, the product offers “complete protection for corn during the first stadiums of the crop.
"The seed industry has to contribute to guarantee the success of current productive models. The integration of the technologies of Fortenza Duo and Agrisure Viptera has contributed to creating a more sustainable productive model in the short term,” affirmed Dr. Fatoretto. The launch will be backed by a monitoring program coordinated by Syngenta’s Seed Institute, with the participation of recognized Argentine entomologists.
"The launch of Fortenza Duo in Argentina reaffirms the leadership of Syngenta in the market of seed treatment, besides highlighting the commitment of Syngenta to offer integrated sustainable solutions for its customers,” stated Carlos Becco, manager of Commercial Seedcare of Syngenta.
