Bayer, Falcão Seeds announce partnership for industrial seed treatment

Bayer and Falcão Seeds have announced a partnership for the industrial treatment at a seed processing unit in the city of Sarandi in the Brazilian state of Rio Grande do Sul. Through this agreement, Bayer will provide a high technology equipment, besides innovating products, monitoring of seed treatment procedures, training for operators and specialized technical assistance.

Agronomist Humberto Falcão, director of Falcão Seeds, highlights that the partnership with Bayer, through the unit, has extreme importance for the company and the supply chain: “The technology brings better quality in protecting the crops, ease in management for farmers, as well as safety for the people involved at the procedure of seed treatment, besides reducing the environmental impact”.

According to the director, the industrial seed treatment is the best investment that the producer can do to protect the inserted technology enabling a better initial development of the crop. “The technology developed by Bayer aggregates value and ease the work of the producer, since he will not need to get involved with treatment in the field, being able to dedicate exclusively for seedling and crop management during the season,” affirms Falcão.

The goal of the industrial seed treatment is to protect the seeds and the crop in its initial phase, contributing at the plague and disease management, besides the possibility of specific inoculant applications and micronutrients. Through the industrial treatment and the high precision at the product application, it is possible to obtain a very homogeneous distribution of each product to seeds.

Roberson Lima, director of SeedGrowth at Bayer, the responsible area for industrial seed treatment, reiterates that this partnership is important because the southern region of the country, diffusing the concept of industrial treatment for the sector: “Falcão Seeds has a great tradition, completing 30 years in the field, and does a very strong work regarding the quality of the produced seeds.
