Beck's Hybrids has recently announces that it will offer ILeVO, a new seed treatment from Bayer CropScience, as the only solution for Sudden Death Syndrome (SDS) that has activity against nematodes.
“For years, SDS has plagued fields in soybean markets, causing massive destruction and detrimental yield loss,” said Scott Beck, vice president at Beck’s. “We’re excited to present farmers with the opportunity to add ILeVO to Beck’s Escalate™ yield enhancement system, providing unmatched protection against a disease that continues to spread across the United States.”
In multi-year data from 2011 to 2014, ILeVO showed a 5.4 Bu./A. average yield advantage across 190 SDS trials in the United States. ILeVO offers protection against two of the top five yield-robbing soybean pests, SDS and Soybean Cyst Nematodes (SCN). Symptoms of both diseases are not unique to the cause and often times are not visible early on. ILeVO’s success lies in its ability to protect the root zone, prevent early seedling infections, and reduce the intensity of SDS foliar symptoms.
“At Beck’s, we strive to provide farmers with the best tools and resources to not only maximize their yield, but protect it,” said Beck. “By adding ILeVO to Beck’s Escalate seed treatment, farmers can go to the field for the first time this spring knowing their soybeans are not only protected against SDS, but also nematodes, insects and other fungal diseases.”
Escalate is a proprietary seed treatment that comes standard on all Beck’s seed at no additional cost. Escalate has been proven to improve plant health, growth and yield. With a proprietary mix of insecticides, fungicides and biologicals, Escalate works to not only protect seed and seedlings from insects and diseases, but also stimulate root and shoot growth.
