Colombia's fertilizers imports reach $509 million in 2014

Colombia imported $509,875,626 (Free On Board value) on fertilizers and chemicals for soil treatment last year. The number is an increase compared of what was purchased from abroad in 2013, when Colombians bought $508,185,702.00 from foreign countries.

The survey was made according to official data from the Department of Safety and Agricultural Inputs of the Colombian Agricultural Institute (ICA). The agency collected information from importers and commercial house.
In terms of volume, the Andean country imported 1.13 million tons of fertilizers and chemicals for soil treatment in 2014. Comparing in these terms, there is a increase compared to, when Colombian purchased 1.1 million tons from abroad.
