EU approves Dow AgroSciences’ fungicide meptyldinocap

The European Commission has approved Dow AgroSciences’s fungicide meptyldinocap used for control powdery mildew on grapes. Dow AgroScience submitted its application to United Kingdom in 2005, and received provisional approvals from Italy, UK, Romania and Chile in 2007, followed by another two extensions until May of 2016. This ais has been licensed to US company Gowan for use in fruits and vines in the U.S. and Canada. EU notes that the applicant shall submit confirmatory information as regards the groundwater exposure assessment, the possible impact of any preferential degradation of this ais, and the consumer risk assessment by March 31st of 2017. The approval expiration is March 31st 2025.
