According to researchers, the nematodes, microscopic parasites that attack the root system, bulbs, and tuber plants, can cause up to 70% of damages to soybean crops. To fight this problem, FMC Agricultural Solutions unveiled the new solution of management of nematodes control for soybeans: the nematicide / insecticide Rugby 200 CS.

The new technology promises a root system protection of the plant, complementing the crop portfolio along with the insecticide Rocks, an already known technological solution for seeds treatment and sucking, chewing insects control. According to FMC, there is a productivity gain of six bags of average compared with non-treated areas with the solution.

The manager for Seeds Treatment Products and soil at FMC, Michel Nessrallah, highlights the importance of the new technology for soybeans. "This new proposal of management that FMC brings to farmers is a solution combined, between the product Rugby 200 CS, highly effective, and the application system, "PulverEasy", an applicator specially developed to bring precision and large-scale use in the field. This system allows the farmer obtains nematode control in the field in a very superior way compared to chemical methods available at the time. It is being conducted in 70 soybean areas treated with Rugby and PulverEasy, of those 40 were already harvested and the productivity increase was of six bags more per hectare compared to non-treated areas", highlights the manager.

Nessrallah explains other product benefits. "The new technology for soybeans allows an effective application in the field, which has a rapid control of the parasite, it can be applied in any type of soil, has a long residual protecting the root of the plant", says.

Since 2009, FMC created the site www.nematoides.com.br - which became reference and information about nematodes in the market - with a data bank about the main attacked crops. The portal brings an online consultancy with nematology experts.
