Brazil’s agrochemical sales recorded a 19% increase to R$ 3,082 million(US$1,325.3 million at the current rate) in Nov 2013, according to the data released by the Brazilian Crop Protection Industry Union, the Sindiveg. The eleven -month sales achieved a 30% increase to R$ 22,141 million (US$9,520.6 million at the current rate). Growth was mainly driven by soybean, corn, wheat crops.
For the eleven-month of 2013, insecticides remained the largest category with sales up by 37% to R$ 8,683 million(US$3,733.7 million at the current rate ), representing 39% of total sales.The herbicides sales ranked second place and grew by 37% to R$ 7,553 million(US$3,247.8 million at the current rate), contributing to 36% of total sales. Fungicide sales boosted by 15% to R$4,980 million(US$2,141.4 million at the current rate), accounting for 21% of total sales, while acaricide sales were up by 4% to R$190 million(US$81.7 million at the current rate). Sales for other products boosted by 11% to R$735 million(US$316.1 million at the current rate).
