China's agchem import jumped up in Oct 2013

According to the data released by the Chinese General Administration of Customs, China’s pesticide import in Oct boosted by 46.7% and 91.1% to 4,000 tons and $41 million in volume and value terms comparing to the same period last year. The same trend appeared in pesticide export with an increase of 17.9% to 72,800 tons and valued at $ 272 million.
 
The country imported a total volume of 63,400 tons of pesticide from Jan to Oct, with value increasing by 21.4% to $ 585 million. Pesticide export during the period steadily grew by 24.6% to 933,400 tons and the total value up by 33.4% to $ 3,149 million.

Import specifics

Fungicide kept its first place in the categories of import pesticide in Oct with 1600 tons in volume. Herbicide import volume substantially grew by 313.7% to 700 tons with value at $ 13 million. Insecticide also saw a great increase by 81.7% and 56.8% to 400 tons and $ 5 million in terms of volume and value.

From Jan to Oct, all the categories showed a double digit increase both in volume and value terms. Insecticide’s import volume was up by 26.6% to 8,900 tons and valued at $ 137 million. Fungicide import increased by 10.2% to 22,500 tons with $ 249 million in value. The import volume of herbicide increased by 10.4% to 19,200 tons and valued at $ 103 million.

Export specifics
 
Herbicide led the export categories with 48,200 tons in volume and value increasing by 43.2% to some $ 169 million. Insecticide and fungicide in volume reached 16,200 tons and 5,800 tons respectively.

From Jan to Oct, herbicide export maintained strong growth by 29.9% and 46.5% to 646,800 tons and $ 1.996 billion in terms of volume and value. Insecticide exported 191,300 tons in volume and valued at $ 764 million. Fungicide export increased by 12.2% in terms of value.
