The European Commission has announced the extension of the approval periods of four active ingredients by 16-18 months to allow sufficient time to complete the renewal procedure. They are: the insecticide, clothianidin; the fungicide, dimoxystrobin; the insecticide/nematicide, oxamyl; and the herbicide, pethoxamid. The four ais approvals were due to expire between 31 July 2016 and 30 September 2016. The European Commission proposed to extend all the expiry dates to 31 January 2018.
