Ruzhou will become China's biggest modern organic fertilizer production base in a few years, as the local government has just signed a large project contract before.

The project, which aims to produce about 1 million tons of urea humic acid fertilizer, is financed by Beijing-based Deng Bang Hua Yuan Organic Agriculture and Desertification Control Technology with a total investment is 3 billion yuan ($485.4 million).

The project will cover 273,415 square meters of land and plans to step up five production lines in two years. When finished, Ruzhou will be China's biggest modern organic fertilizer production base.

Officials from the Ministry of Science and Technology, the environmental and resources protection committee of the National People's Congress, and some experts also attended the signing ceremony on April 20.

Li Quansheng, Party secretary of the city, says that they welcome the investment project, which is believed to bring many benefits to the city's economy and emerging industry development.

Li adds that the city has a great location, brilliant cultural heritage, and rich mineral and labor resources, which has helped attract many companies in the past few years.

He says that the local government will make greater efforts to attract more investment in the future and will take measures to help ensure the project is carried out smoothly.
