Agriculture Future of America is proud to welcome Stan Howell and Mike Vande Logt to its Board of Directors.

"AFA is pleased to announce the election of these outstanding national leaders to its board," said Sandy Kemper, chairman of the board. "We welcome them to our director team and are thrilled to have their experience and vision helping guide AFA's future."

Howell serves as vice president of the North American Commercial Unit of Dow AgroSciences. Howell has served Dow in a variety of positions since he joined The Dow Chemical Company as a trainee in 1976. His current responsibilities include the pest management business, Mycogen Seeds commercial organization, traits and germplasm licensing business and the healthy oils business. Howell studied marketing in Bloomington, Ill., at Indiana University.

Vande Logt is executive vice president and chief operating officer of seed for Land O'Lakes Inc. He has served the agriculture industry for 32 years, 22 of which he has spent at Land O' Lakes. His personal interest in AFA was piqued after attending the 2011 AFA Leaders Conference in Kansas City, Mo. Vande Logt completed undergraduate studies in agronomy and graduate studies in plant breeding in Madison, Wis., at the University of Wisconsin.

Both Dow AgroSciences and Land O'Lakes are valued Organizational Partners of AFA. These leaders were elected to AFA's Board of Directors during the June 2012 Board of Directors meeting. The following board members were also reelected to the board for another term - Geralyn Hayes, Bunge North America vice president of human resources; Pete Goetzmann, Archer Daniels Midland vice president; Orion Samuelson, WGN Radio/RFD TV agribusiness director; Kevin Stiles, Midwest Dairy Association senior vice president of marketing and industry coordination; and Joshua Sosland, Sosland Publishing Company vice president.

AFA's Board of Directors represents many of the country's leading agri-businesses, land-grant universities, associations and producers. They meet three times each year to give strategic guidance to the organization as well as providing industry perspective on AFA's programming efforts.
