Bayer launches new fungicide in Brazil

Bayer CropScience has launched the fungicide, Sphere Max (trifloxystrobin + cyproconazole), in Brazil for use on coffee against coffee rust (Hemileia vastatrix) and brown eye spot (Cercospora coffeicola). The latter is an increasing problem for coffee growers in Brazil, the company says. The product gained registration early last month. It was also approved for use on soybeans against Asian soybean rust (Phakopsora pachyrhizi) among other diseases. Trifloxystrobin is one of the best-selling active ingredients in Brazil.
