Canadian approval for Bayer's maize herbicide

The Canadian Pest Management Agency (PMRA) has granted full approval to Bayer CropScience’s maize herbicide, Option 35 DF (foramsulfuron 35%). The product was granted conditional registration in 2003. The PMRA is unable to grant full approval for the liquid formulation, Option 2.25 OD (foramsulfuron 22.5 g/litre), because its toxicity to aquatic vascular plants is “still unknown”, the Agency notes.
