•  Kenya's fertilizer producer, MEA, has signed a sh5.5billion annual supply contract deal with Morocco’s Office Cherifien des Phosphates (OCP), the world’s largest producer of DAP fertilizer.

•  Kenya will distribute 30,000 metric tons of fertilizer to grain farmers at subsidized prices to help boost production.

•  Knox Fertilizer Company has been granted EPA registration for its product, Shaw's Turf Food with Acelepryn and Dimension, providing season long control of crabgrass and grubs in one early season application.

•  Koch Agronomic Services has broadened its agronomic portfolio with the acquisition of the Nitamin and Nitamin Nfusion slow-release foliar- and soil-applied nitrogen fertilizers from Georgia-Pacific Chemicals.

•  K+S Aktiengesellschaft has successfully concluded the sale of COMPO to the European private equity investor Triton, after the EU cartel authorities have approved the deal as of September 26.

•  Malaysia's Petronas Chemicals Group plans to build a fertilizer plant at Sipitang Industrial Park, Sabah, costing about $1.5 bn.

•  Nepal has used Bangladesh rail route to bring in its fertilizer consignment from Morocco through Chittagong port.

•  Nigeria signed a memorandum of understanding with Xenel Corp. of Saudi Arabia and Nagarjuna Fertilizers & Chemicals (NFCL) Ltd. of India to build petrochemical and fertilizer plants in the West African country.

•  A new fertilizer variety, Proterfert LN 6, 5 natural organic fertilizer based on amino acids and rich in yield increase has been introduced in the country to help farmers increase their productivity.

•  PetroVietnam Fertilizer and Chemicals Corporation with the brand name Dam Phu My (DPM) has produced 5 million tonnes of urea fertilizer after seven years of operation, helping the country save US$1.8 billion from not importing fertilizer.

•  The Philippine Coconut Authority (PCA) will distribute salt fertilizers to coconut farmers in Eastern Visayas before the year ends to boost production.

•  Potash Corporation of Saskatchewan Inc. (PotashCorp) announced the settlement of its litigation with Mosaic Potash Esterhazy Limited Partnership (Mosaic).

•  Russian fertiliser company EuroChem is keen to buy the nitrogen fertiliser operations of Germany's K+S, EuroChem's controlling shareholder Andrei Melnichenko.

•  Sri Lankan government will allocate Rs. 50,000 million as fertilizer subsidy beginning May 6, 2011.

•  Tekfen Contracting Group, the construction branch of Turkey’s Tekfen Holding, is planning to build a phosphate pipeline and fertilizer facility in Morocco, home of three quarters of the world’s phosphate reserves.

•  Tessenderlo Kerley announced the development of a new potassium and sulfur fertilizer solution safe for in-furrow application in corn, wheat and cotton.

•  Triton Beteiligungsberatung GmbH agreed to buy Compo from K+S AG in a deal valued at 205 million euros ($293 million) to add the garden-fertilizer unit to its investments.

•  Uralkali announces new terms of cooperation with JSC International Potash Company in relation to Uralkali export sales.

•  Uralkali said that it expects global potash fertilizer sales in 2012 to grow slightly to between 59 million-60 million metric tons, from the expected 58 million tons this year.

•  Vale SA paid 2.08 billion reais ($1.1 billion) to boost its stake in fertilizer producer Vale Fertilizantes SA amid strong growth in agriculture.

•  Yara International ASA is looking toward Latin America and Africa for immediate growth opportunities amid high asset prices in North America and Europe.

•  Yara International ASA and OCP S.A. have agreed key terms for the establishment of a 50/50 joint venture in Brazil and the entry into corresponding phosphate rock supply and other commercial arrangements.
