US EPA issues cancellation order for dicofol

Follows a June 22, 2011 Federal Register Notice of receipt of request from Makhteshim Agan to voluntarily cancel the registrations of products containing organochlorine acaricide, dicofol, EPA has issued a cancellation order granting the requested cancellations and amendments to terminate the uses of dicofol registrations. They are the last remaining dicofol registrations in the US. Dicofol was registered for use on cotton and several other crops and for non-residential lawns and ornamentals.
The cancellation of the technical dicofol product was effective on December 14, 2011. The cancellation of the end use registrations will take effect on October 31, 2013. Any distribution, sale, or use of the products subject to this cancellation order is permitted only in accordance with the terms of the order. Sale of stocks after that date will only be allowed for exports.
