Officials say illegal Chinese mothballs imported by a Brooklyn-based company could be mistaken by children for candy.

Officials say Fuji Lavender Moth Tablets from China that are not registered with the EPA, as required by law.

EPA officials are concerned the potentially toxic mothballs colorful packaging could cause children to mistake the pesticides for candy.

Agents are investigating whether any of the product has reached store shelves.

Consumers who purchased them should contact the EPA at 1-732-321-4461 or epa.gov for information on how to safely dispose of them.
