Roundup Ready® canola is back for the 2012 season with a new, simpler pricing structure.

Grower feedback shaped changes to the payment model and now growing Roundup Ready® canola for profitable weed control has never been more straightforward.

Growers planting Roundup Ready canola in 2012 will pay one fee of $6.00 (excluding GST) per kilogram of planting seed.

"We took on board feedback from growers, Technology Service Providers (TSPs), handlers and marketers about the current two step pricing system,” Monsanto Country Lead, Peter O’Keeffe said.

"They told us it would be preferable if we could simplify our two-step pricing system , and the majority of growers wanted certainty of total up front,” Mr O’Keeffe said.

"The new single fee payment system equates to a clear and set value proposition where growers can clearly see the financial advantages of growing Roundup Ready varieties.”

Recent trials prove that Roundup Ready canola delivers higher yields than other herbicide tolerant varieties. This system provides superior weed control, excellent crop safety and the ability to maximise yield potential.

A summary of the 2010 National Variety Trials Herbicide Tolerant Canola Trials proves Roundup Ready canola’s superiority as a variety, with eight out of nine sites where Roundup Ready canola was grown outperforming other canola varieties.
